- COON VALLEY, Wis. - Joyce M. Leis, 74, of rural Coon Valley went ho me to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan.18, 2001, at the Norseland Nursing H ome in Westby where she had been a resident since July 1996. She was bo rn Aug. 31, 1926, in Rock Co., Wis., to Harley and Ethel (Ward) Dunn. S he graduated from Cashton High School in 1944. She married LeRoy Le is on Oct. 10, 1944, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pine Holl ow near Cashton. The couple farmed in the area until 1973. Joyce was a vol unteer at the Bethel Home, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and t he Altar Society. She greatly enjoyed gardening, baking and all her grandc hildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; eig ht children, Larry (Barb) Leis, Carol Lee, Linda (Ivan) Kunert, Gary (Mart ha) Leis, Denise (Randy) Gilbertson, Daniel Leis, Mary (Richard) Myhre a nd Ethel (Rick) Johnson; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; t wo brothers, Wayne Dunn and James (Lou) Dunn; a sister, Joanne (Fred) Hawk inson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paren ts, a son Mark and a granddaughter, Katelyn. A Mass of Christian Burial wi ll be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Chur ch in Coon Valley. Father Zbigniew Kucharski and Father Robert Hundt wi ll officiate with burial in St. Joseph'sCatholic Cemetery, rural La Crosse. Friends may call at the Seland Funer al Home in Coon Valley on Sunday evening from 4 to 9 p.m. with a Rosa ry at 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of se rvice.
