- SPARTA - Robert A. Leis, 81, of Sparta died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah. Robert A. Leis, 81, of Sparta, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. He was born on April 15, 1929 in Cashton WI to Matt and Helen (Jacobson) Leis. Robert married Gloria Miller on Sept. 14, 1948 and later divorced.
He is survived by his children, Donna (Alan) Danovski, Janet (Larry) Mikkla, Larry (Sarah) Leis, Robin (Bonnie) Leis, and Nathan (Teresa) Leis; a son-in-law, Dennis Quinn; a brother, Steven (Donna) Leis; 2 sisters, Judy (Charles) Von Ruden and Laura Leis; 3 sisters-in-law, Beth Leis, Madonna Bahr, and Karen Leis; his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Helen; a daughter, Sally Quinn; 2 infant grandchildren; and 3 brothers, LaVerne, Duane, and Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta, with Very Reverend Edward Shuttleworth officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.
Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
