  Alice M. Fairchild, age 83, of Chisago City, MN, formerly of Weaver, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Parmly Senior Services in Chisago City. She was born December 7, 1925 in Weaver, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Brutsch) Romenesko. She was a graduate of Winona High School. She married Ralph Fairchild February 23, 1946 at the Weaver United Methodist Church. The family lived a few years in Rollingstone before moving to South St. Paul where Ralph worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company and Alice was a homemaker. She later worked for the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation in St. Paul issuing permits for truckers. She retired in 1988. The couple moved to Center City, MN in 1974. Ralph died September 3, 1986. Alice moved to the nursing facility in Chisago City in 2000. Alice was a former member of the Weaver United Methodist Church. She was also a life member of Royal Neighbors. She is survived by children and spouses, Sharon and Ron Kraetzner, South St. Paul, MN, Dennis Fairchild, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Kathleen and Jim Hale, Chandler, TX, Douglas and Sharon Fairchild, Forest Lake, MN, Debra and Robert Bruber, Chisago City, MN, Larry Fairchild, Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ralph, two sisters, Elsie Heaser and Helen Lang and one brother, Earl Romenesko, preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00am at Weaver United Methodist Church in Weaver with the Reverend Lyle Krumrie officiating. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery in Kellogg. Casket bearers will be Denise Schneider, Jody Bruber, Kevin Fairchild, Kari Jo Burrows, Jon Fairchild, Allen Heaser, Harold Merchlewitz and Jim Fairchild. Friends may call at the church one hour before the service.
