My great-gre at grandfather John/Jan Vandenberg was born in Berlicum, Noord Braba nt on 17 JUN 1833. He emigrated in 1858, and worked constructing a railr oad track. Peter Vandenberg
Maria Vandenberg
Elizabeth Vandenberg
Arnoldine (married a Kastelijn)
Henrietta (married a Van Duel or Van Diel or Van Diehl).Family records indicate that there had been correspondence with relativ es named Tibosch until the beginning of World War II. I am wondering if t he Hendrika KASTELIJN who married Wilhelmus TIBOSCH about 1888 mig ht be a daughter of Arnoldine Vandenberg Kastelijn. I would like to learn about the parents and/or grandparents of John/J an Vandenberg..The wife of John/Jan Vandenberg was Anna Maria VANDENBERGH, b. Jay: The following stories are from my Dad, James Holschuh.
"John Vandenberg (the one born 17 JUN 1833) and his wife, Anna Mary (Marie) Vandenbergh traveled by boat from the Netherlands to the United States in 1848. They carried their possessions in a steamer trunk and ate pumpernickel bread for meals during the long journey. They came to America on the ship Libra which left Rotterdam on 3-14-1848. They arrived in Boston on 5-5-1848.
