- Dottie Rengasamy, 61, passed away unexpectedly Monday at her home in Vallejo due to heart disease.
Dottie was born at home in Cashton, Wisconsin to Herbert and Virginia (Klinkner) Leis on March 7, 1947. She had lived in Vallejo the past 32 years and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 42 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her family was her passion and she especially loved having recently become a grandmother. She enjoyed any time spent with her family and friends, whether it was playing cards, watching a movie, or just sipping coffee.
She will be missed for her beautiful smile, generous heart and fun spirit. A kind, caring and compassionate nurse, Dottie was loved by her patients and her co-workers. She enjoyed many hobbies, including shopping, decorating the home and traveling. She spent some of her youth traveling the world, including Hawaii, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and Fiji.
Dottie was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Leis.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Visvalingam "Vis" Rengasamy; daughters, Natalie (Robert) Estimo and Christine Rengasamy; grandson, Jordan Estimo; mother, Virginia Leis; and siblings, Shirley Wuensch, Ruth Swartz, Jerry Leis, Phillip Leis, Patricia Olson, Wayne Leis, Tony Leis and Brenda Leis.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 8 with a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7 p.m. at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 9 at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, Nebraska and Tuolumne Sts., Vallejo. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
