- Hietpas, Arthur P. Little Chut eAge 84, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, with h is family at his side. He was born December 26, 1918 in Appleton; son of t he late William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Arthur married Ire ne M. Timmers, February 5, 1946 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleto n. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years spending 2 of the ye ars in the CBI Theatre (China, Burma and India) in Calcutta, India duri ng World War II. Arthur was a member of the American Legion Jacob Coppus P ost #258, Little Chute and a charter member of the World War II Memoria l. He was a graduate of St. John Catholic School and a member of St. Jo hn Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Arthur was a prominent buildi ng contractor in the Fox Valley area for nearly 30 years. After retireme nt he spent many years traveling in their motor home, attending army reuni ons and visiting friends and relatives across the U.S. He enjoyed playi ng cards, doing yard work, fishing and spending time with his family, espe cially his grandchildren.Arthur is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters: Susan (Ceylon) Kin g, Menasha; Jean (Scott) Hietpas-Ohrstrom, Mill Valley, California; five s ons: Charles (Ellen) Hietpas, Little Chute; Kenneth Hietpas, Kaukauna; Jef frey Hietpas, Appleton; Gregory (Demi) Hietpas, Dunedin, Florida; Todd (Pa ttie) Hietpas, Combined Locks; 15 grandchildren: Jennifer (John) Elrick; S ara (Carl) Peluso; Patrick, Erin, Stephanie, Josh, Fletcher, Tyler, Aust in and Evan Hietpas; Carie and Zakk King; Katie (Michael) Falk; Ashley Wes er; Morgan Ohrstrom; four great-grandchildren: Brandon, Alyssa, Claire a nd Xavier; four brothers: Paul, Owen (Irene), Mark (Gladys) and Dennis Hie tpas; two sisters: Margie Hietpas and Betty VanderSanden; two sisters-in-l aw: Betsy and Rita Timmers; a brother-in-law, William Mattern and speci al friend Sandra. William was preceded in death by a brother, William (Yvo nne) Hietpas; three sisters: Shirley Mattern, Patricia (Henry) Tatro, Bern ice (Ted) Larson; brothers-in-law: Casey VanderSanden; Norbert, Jerome a nd Robert Timmers; sisters-in-law: Ethel and Ruth Hietpas; Mildred (Floria n) Smith and Lucille Timmers.Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 20 03 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Msgr. Ja mes Vanden Hogen officiating, followed by full military honors by the Amer ican Legion Jacob Coppus Post. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Fri ends may call at the church from 2:30 p.m. Wednesday until the time of t he mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
