- Bodde, George J.; George J. B odde, Town of Kaukauna, "A farmer all his life." After a long series of il lnesses, George J. Bodde passed away quietly at home on Good Friday, Apr il 9, 2004. George was born April 4, 1926 to the late William Henry and Ro salie (Bougie) Bodde in the Town of Kaukauna. He married the former Floren ce Steffens on August 17, 1948, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The funer al service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday April 15, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CH URCH, 309 Desnoyer Street Kaukauna with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Frien ds will be received on Wednesday at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 24 01 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer servi ce at 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at Church from 10 a.m. until the ti me of service. 2004 APC dated 4/12/2004 George J. Bodde, Town of Kaukauna; "A farmer a ll his life.", After a long series of illnesses, George J. Bodde passed aw ay quietly at home on Good Friday, April 9, 2004. George was born Apr il 4, 1926, to the late William Henry and Rosalie (Bougie) Bodde in the To wn of Kaukauna. He married the former Florence Steffens on Aug. 17, 194 8, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. George was a loving husband, father, gra ndfather and great grandfather. To those who knew him, George was a m an of few words who quietly went about his work. He was a hardworking m an and the farm and his family were his whole life. George and his wife, F lorence, took over his father's farm in 1968 and built it into a 60 her d, dairy-milking operation. George farmed 160 acres of farm property and c ontinued a proud family heritage marked by a State Certified Century Fa rm Award in 1980. The farm has now passed to the 5th Bodde generatio n. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time fishing at their co ttage on Shawano Lake. As an avid gardener, he passed on his knowled ge to three of his grandchildren, helping them start their own gardens a nd thereby passing on this family tradition.He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Florence Bodde; his son, Wa yne (Judy) Bodde; three daughters, Joan (Chuck) Huss, Laura (John) Ever s, Rose (Russ) Vande yacht; eight grandchildren, Bill (Melody) Bodde, L iz (Bill) Inman, Abby Bodde, Martha Bodde, Jackie (Marty) DeCoster, Charle ne Huss and her fiance, Mike Zuleger, Jenny Huss and Nick Evers; and one g reat-grandson, Eli Inman.His parents, William and Rose Bodde and his son, William "Little Bill" Bod de, preceded him in death.The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, at HOLY CROSS C ATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jim Lucas officiat ing.
