- Mary Sue Huser (nee Coleman), 72, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on November 29, 2013. As Mary Sue would say, she's "off on another great adventure." Sadly, this time, not hand-in-hand with her husband and soul mate, Steve, or with her adored granddaughters. She will, however, join her parents, Harold and Margaret Coleman and stepson, Joe Huser.
Mary Sue was born on March 24, 1941 in Kaukauna, WI. The eldest of seven children, she graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1959. Not a child of privilege, Mary Sue was raised with solid Midwestern values and was always ready with a helping hand and a spirit of optimism for family, friends, coworkers and strangers alike.
Mary Sue and Steve met in Kaukauna in 1973. After a short whirlwind romance, Mary Sue threw caution to the wind and followed her "California Flash," kids in tow, to Phoenix. Mary Sue and Steve would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in February. Until Mary Sue's retirement in 2009, she and Steve owned and managed a successful machine tool distribution company. For the past 2 1/2 years, Mary Sue resided at Barton House II Assisted Living for Dementia Care. Mary Sue had a passion for 60's music, traveling, BBQ's, and spending quality time with her children and grandkids.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Steve; children, Tracy and Todd Ludwig; her four brothers, Pat (Sherry), Bob (Carla), Kevin (Rose) and Keith (Patty) Coleman; two sisters, Maggie Coleman and Kathy (Loren)Sendek; stepdaughters, Lucie (Greg) Preece, Lisa (Bob) McFadden, three granddaughters, Carly Rae Ryan, Cassidy and Ryan Ludwig, step-grandchildren Sean and Miranda Preece, Jeremy McFadden, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also missed by her dear friend, Kathy Overland, and long-time childhood friends Pat Rock, Barb Tetzloff, Sandie (Dave) Valentyne, Didd (Stan) Berghuis, all of Wisconsin, and cousins Jim and Jack Schlude, who stayed in touch throughout her illness.
Arrangements entrusted to Messenger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Banner Hospice, 202 E Earll Dr., Suite 160, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
