- Mrs Henry Vandenberg was found dead in the wood shed by her daughter Thursday. Julia Quemby Vandenberg was born near Mt. Clemens Michigan in 1860. She married Henry at age 18. Mr Vandenberg died 1 year ago. Survived by her mother Mrs Samuel Quemby and sister Mrs Charity Spencer of Detroit. Florence Quemby and Joseph Quemby of Mt. Clemens, and children; Joseph 17, Agnes 14, Florence 11.

Holland - The funeral of Mrs Henry Vandenberg was held Monday at St. Francis. Found dead in her home, Mrs Julia Vandenebrg was born near Mt. Clemons Michigan in 1860, in 1892 she married Henry Vandenberg who died about 1 year ago. Survived by 2 daughters, Agnes age 14 and Florence age 11 and 1 son Joseph 17. Her mother is Mrs Samuel Quemby of Detroit Michigan. Two sisters Mrs C. Spencer of Detroit and Miss Florence Quemby of Mt Clemons, 1 brother Joseph of Mt Clemons.

Mrs. Henry Vandenberg was found dead about four o'clock Thursday afternoon in the wood shed of her home on Eighth street where she had apparently gone for coal as she had pitched head foremost into the bin where it is kept. A large bruise was found on her forehead which she received in the fall. One of her children came home at noon for dinner and not finding her mother ate a lunch and went back to her studies. Between three and four she came home again after school was dismissed to again find her mother missing. She went to the woodshed for kindling to start the fire for supper when she was terrified to find the dead body of her mother where she had undoubtedly lain several hours. Mrs. Vandenberg was seen alive at a about nine p" clock in the morning when Milkman De Coster delivered milk. Julia Quemby Vandenberg was born near Mt. Clemens, Mich. In 1860 and eighteen years ago was married to Henry Vandenberg of this city where she has since lived. They resided on their farm in Buchanan until four years ago when they moved to the south side. Mr. Vandenberg died a year ago last January. Surviving are her children, Joseph , aged 17, Agnes, 14 and Florence 11. Her mother Mrs. Samuel Quemby and, sister Mrs. Charity Spencer of Detroit, Mich., Florence Quemby, another sister, and a brother Joseph Quemby of Mt. Clemens. The funeral will be at St. Mary's church, probably Monday morning at nine o'clock possibly one hour later, as they have not heard from the relatives. Mrs. Vandenberg had insurance of $1,000 in the foresters.
