  See Image MRS. J.H. JACKSON DIES EARLY TODAY Well Known Long-Time Resident of Hub City Succumbs To Illness After an illness since last Tuesday Mrs. John H. Jackson, Sr., passed away at the St. Lukes hospital early Monday morning. Mrs. Jackson was prominent and well known having come to Aberdeen during the early 80's and during her life time was always actively identified in city affairs. Nora Ringrose was born at Appleton, Wisconsin, December 8, 1860 and moved to Aberdeen with her parents in 1883. She was married to John H. Jackson in Aberdeen in 1889. Mrs. Jackson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. G. Leaper residing in Minnesota and Mrs. Don W. De Vey of Westport; two sons, John H. Jackson and Edward C. Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Isaac Lincoln of Aberdeen and Mrs. N. J. Hartley, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Aberdeen Evening News Tue. Jackson Succumbs To Influenza At Age Of 73 Closing the last chapter of a life story replete with benefactions, good will and scores of kindly deeds unassumingly performed, Mrs. Nora Ringrose Jackson, Aberdeen pioneer, prominent church woman, and ideal friend and neighbor, passed quietly over the threshold of life's last frontier early Monday morning. She was 73 years old at the time of her passing. Her husband, the late J. H. Jackson, founder of the Jackson Wholesale Hardware company, preceded her in death by more than a dozen years, passing away in February, 1921. Coming to Aberdeen fifty years ago when the city was but a frontier village, and she an attractive young woman, Nora Ringrose quickly caught the spirit of the frontier west and made of the Sherman hotel, which she with her mother, sister and brother founded and conducted, one of the most popular hostelries in this part of the vast Dakota territory. Her death at a local hospital was attributed to influenza with which she had been ill since Tuesday. Mrs. Jackson was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church. For nearly a half century she had been prominently identified with the leading social activities of the city. Born at Appleton, Wis., Dec 8, 1860, Mrs. Jackson came to Aberdeen during the early years of the '80's.
