- EMAIL Date: 8/13/2001 8:18:54 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: dipearls@home.c om (DilithiumPearls)Greetings Jay- Thank you for your well wishes - I didn't have surgery th is time - only a diagnosis of a permanant condition - fibromyalgia & Myofa cial Pain syndrome. Fun - fun - fun. Lots to learn, but it sure does exp lain the last 13 years of my life hahahahah. So -- I don't think I have any Patterson ties to yours, none of the oth er names you mentioned are in my tree.Speaking of tree- I have mine on a family treemaker software (can expo rt as GEDCOM.) I was planning to polish up my tree and complete all t he notes as to where I got the data for each person. Then I got "sick" a nd I couldn't work on it anymore. It is complete now, I just don't know h ow to upload to the rootweb (or anyother) site. Do you know where I cou ld look up a FAQ page on how to do it? Then you'd have access to my Patte rson's line, and you could be sure who's who.On the other hand- I might be able to ask Rose City Cemetery - Did I say t hat in an earlier email? --well I'm getting my treatment plan set up, a nd seem to be making progress already, so I will try my best to get over t here soon. Who knows they may have lots on her - but you'd probably be t he only one they'd tell. Keep in touch if I flounder on this!!! Subject: Re: Multnomah County - Patterson Rebecca,I am not sure where I got your email address, but I think it was Random Ac ts of Genealogy Kindness - Oregon at the Rootsweb.com site. The only info I have is that Mary "Minnie" or "Winnie" POWERS married a PA TTERSON, probably sometime after Oct 1, 1888 (she is listed as Minnie Powe rs as a witness to her sisters wedding) They probably married in Wisconsi n, but moved to Oregon. They supposedly had two children, Hattie and Chest er Patterson. I sent a request to Multnomah Co for a copy of a Death reco rd for a Chester Patterson, but this does NOT appear to be related. He di ed in 1956 and was born in Iowa and mothers name was Bertha Swailes.I would assume that the family came to Portland only because some other fa milies from the same area of Wisconsin that are somewhat related, PETER S, and MICKE went to Portland. Any help you can provide would be greatly a ppreciated. I hope you are recovering well from your surgery, my though ts are with you. Best, Jay Wilpolt
The Chester Kenneth Patterson who died in Portland Oregon on 6/08/1956, is NOT related, his death cert lists birth as 4/08/1909 in Iowa chi ld of J.C. Patterson and Bertha Swailes.
There is a Chester Patterson in the 1905 Kaukauna Census (page 47) a ge 38 born in NY occupation Stone cutter with wife Helen age 32 born in W is parents born Germany and son Howard age 13. But that would make this Ch ester born about 1867, too early to be a child of Minnie's.
The OTHER Chester Patterson age 65, died in Kaukauna in March 1931, obit m entions he was born in Syracuse NY (abt 1866) and came to Kaukauna at t he age of 2, his survivors were his widow, son Howard and a sister Emma Ne ss of Gladstone MIch.
