- Mildred M. Lamers "Milly", age 80, died peacefully October 30, 2006, at the St. Paul Home. She was born September 9, 1926, in the Town of Kaukauna, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Cecilia (Schampers) Bowers. On November 21, 1946, Milly married Roy Lamers at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. The couple farmed in the Hollandtown area until retiring in 1991. Roy preceded Milly in death on July 21, 2001. Milly was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, the enjoyment of her flowers and tending to stray cats.
She is survived by her children: Pat (Corey) Kroll of Arizona; Jeanne (Dave) Sprangers of Combined Locks; Carol (Marty) Huss of Kaukauna; Bob (Nancy) Lamers of Kaukauna; Shirley (Don) Hoffman of Wrightstown; Kim (Jon) Ungemach of Greenfield; Betsy (John) Bittinger of Iron Mountain; 14 grandchildren: Tom Wouters, Brian (Annette) Kroll, Scott (Lisa) Sprangers, Janella (Jamie) Mader, Andy (Stacy) Huss, Dan (Jen) Lamers, Sarah (fiance Dave Zouski) Lamers, Michelle (special friend, Skyler) Lamers, Tracy (Chris) Schroeder, Faye (Ben) Bader, Isral (special friend, Joanna) DeBruin, Rachel DeBruin, Brooke and Megan Bittinger; 14 great-grandchildren: Christina, Melissa, Kevin, Mickayla, Angelina and Andrew Mader, Adam and Emma Sprangers, Grace Huss, Peyton Schroeder, Haven Bader, Madison Wouters and Elizabeth and Andrew Kroll. She is further survived by sisters and brothers: Loraine (Jim) Shillcox, Mary Hermes, Arlene Blair, Bud (Eleanor) Bowers, Norman (Margaret) Bowers, Ann Bowers, Clarence (Nancy) Bowers, Lloyd (Mary Jane) Bowers and Rosanne (Bob) Bastian.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Bowers, two brothers-in-law, Joe Hermes and Cletus Blair and all the babies lost but never forgotten.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Milly will be 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006, at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Hollandtown with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A memorial is being established in her name. Burial will follow Milly's service in the Parish Cemetery. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family. 766-2099.
