- Peep J. Brown, 88, of Appleton, was reunited with the love of her life, her husband Gordon on Friday, September 26, 2014. Peep was born on February 17, 1926 in Appleton to the late Frank and Olga (Breier) Breuer. She was a lifetime resident of Appleton graduating from Appleton High School. On April 12, 1947 she was united in marriage to Gordon A. Brown at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Peep worked as a cook for Whole Life Mutual Insurance Company.
Peep loved camping especially in Door County with her family and friends, and telling stories of the Vale of Vahala. She also enjoyed playing Skip-O with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was not uncommon to find Peep at one of her favorite spots the 10th Frame enjoying dinner and their famous Old Fashions, with family and friends.
Peep is survived by her two daughters; Kathy (Mark Baumler) Brown, and Karen (Mark) de Young; by her grandchildren Chad VanDaalwyk, Sarah (Travis Arneson) VanDaalwyk-Davis, Brian (Maia) VanDaalwyk, Ben (Carrie) de Young, Nick (Lindsey) de Young, and William (Miranda) de Young; by great-grandchildren; Jack, George, Frankie, Lydia, Sylas, Anthony, Samuel, Jacob, Isabella, Layla, and Lyric; by her sisters; Rhea (Don) Missling, Dorothy Willer, and Beverly Ball; by sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stoeger, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Peep was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, sister Betty Thoede, brothers; Frank (Dee) Breuer, Jack (Faye) Breuer, Mowry (Hendrine) Breuer, and brothers-in-law; Harvey Willer, Sam Ball, and Elmer Brown Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 410 W. Lawrence St. Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary OFM Cap. officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday October 2, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the CHURCH.
