- ARGO M. FOSTER, M. D., one of the successful young physicians and surgeons of Outagamie county, Wisconsin, engaged in an extensive practice in the City of Kaukauna, is a Canadian by birth, having been born in 1886 at Rondo, Ontario, a son of David M. and Rebecca (Moore) Foster. Dr. Foster's mother died when he was but seven months old, and in 1888 his father moved to Michigan, where he was again married. He still lives in Michigan, working at his trade of marine engineer. Argo M. Foster received his early education in Michigan, and after completing a public and high school course, entered the University of Michigan, at Ann Arbor, at first taking the pharmacy course; he later took up medicine and graduated for the medical department thereof in 1910, at which time he came to Kaukauna and has since been engaged in practice here with his uncle. The latter, Argo Melborn Foster, was also born in Canada, and is a graduate of the Michigan College of Medicine and Surgery of Detroit, Michigan, where he was matriculated in 1892, and after practicing at Detroit and Cleveland came to Kaukauna in 1904, where he has been engaged in a general practice to the present time. He was married to Dora Genard, of Medina, New York, in 1892. Dr. Foster is a member of the Masons, the Elks and the Odd Fellows, and both he and his nephew hold membership in the county, state and national medical associations.

- Racine— -Asserting that Dr, A. M. Foster, found guilty of man- slaughter by a jury here, had been tried on the wrong charges, his attorneys demanded dismissal of their client or a new trial. Judge B. R. Burgess has taken the case under advisement.

- FORMER KAUKAUNA DOCTOR IS PUNISHED IN RACINE Kaukauna— Three veteran Racine physicians lost their licenses in Municipal court last week when they were found guilty of performing il- legal operations. One of the doctors was A. M. Foster, for 15 years a physician in Kaukauna. He left the city only five years ago and is well known here. The men were sentenced to serve four years in Waupun but were paroled to the state board of control because of their advanced ages and the fact that two are failing in health.

- FORMER KAUKAUNA DOCTOR FREED BY HIGH COURT Kaukauna— A friend of Dr. A. M. Foster, formerly located in this city. has received word that the criminal; case against him which had been ap- pealed to the supreme court, has been dismissed because of lack of evidence. Dr. Foster was arrested on charges of performing an illegal operation and was convicted in the lower court. He appealed and the case was dismissed.

- FUNERAL RITES FOR FORMER RESIDENT Kaukauna - Funeral services for Dr. Argo M. Foster, 65, former Kaukauna resident, who died at his home in Racine Tuesday morning were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home in Racine. The body was sent to Highland Park, Mich. for burial. Dr. Foster is survived by his wife. Kaukauna people who attended the services were Mrs. J. Merrit Black, a niece, and her two sons, George and Merrit.

- FORMER KAUKAUNA COUPLE IS DIVORCED IN RACINE Kaukauna — Social circles in Ra- rine were given a surprise list week when it was announced that Ethel Claire Foster, 30, had been granted a divorce from Dr. Argo M. Foster, well known physician in Racine, on the grounds of cruel treatment. Dr. Foster formerly was a resident of Kaukauna. The decree was granted in Racine municipal court last Wednesday after Mrs. Foster had told of the mistreat- ment received from her husband. She charged he had attacked her on dif- ferent occasions, sometimes in the presence of women's rooms. The wife said her husband had an- nnnual net income of more than $5, 000 a year and that he owns property in Racine and other places to a value of more than $16,000. Mrs. Foster by agreement, received $3,1OO in lieu of alimony. The couple was married in Chicago, April 10, 1915.
