- Norbert "Nubs" A. DeCleene, 58, Ashwaubenon, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at home with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 30, 1948, to LaVerne (Patzke) DeCleene and the late Harold (Stub) DeCleene in Green Bay.
Nubs served his country in the United States Marines from 1966 to 1968 where he did two tours in Vietnam.
On Aug. 6, 1982, he married Nancy Mancheski.
Prior to getting into his political career, he had been employed with the family business, DeCleene Masons. He served as a village of Ashwaubenon trustee from 1999 to 2003; the village of Ashwaubenon president from 2003 to the present; and was a Brown County supervisor for District 21 from 2006 to the present.
He initiated and organized the building of the Brown County Veterans Memorial monument. Nubs was a member of the Vietnam Veterans America Chapter 224 and the VFW Ashwaubenon Post #10244.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two children, Somer and Chase, Ashwaubenon; his mother, LaVerne DeCleene; five siblings, Linda (Denny) McCormack, Oconto; Jeff (Jan) DeCleene, Ashwaubenon; Mark (Kim) DeCleene, De Pere; Debbie (Kent) Johnson, De Pere; and Matt DeCleene, Atlanta, Ga.; Nancy's parents, Dr. Alvin and Dawn Mancheski; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Janson Mancheski, Hobart; Amy (Paul) King, Green Bay; Dr. Mark Mancheski, Allouez; and Randy Mancheski, Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his father, Harold, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Renee.
Friends may call Monday, Aug. 13, after 1 p.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., where the Memorial Mass will take place at 4 p.m. Full military honors to follow.
