- Donna Scheer, of Appleton, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Donna was born in Watertown on February 11, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Radke) Fredrick. She graduated from Northwestern Preparatory School in Watertown and found she had a love for and a gift for helping those with special needs. This led her to a job at Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown and later she worked with the Agape program in Appleton. Donna enjoyed reading and collecting crystal pieces. She had studied voice for thirteen years, and will be remembered by all as a wonderful vocalist.
Donna was also a longtime and faithful member of Appleton's First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Donna is survived by her husband, Bob Scheer of Appleton; five children and their families: Steven (Debbie) Twomey of Maricopa, Arizona, and their children Holly, Jason, and Mike; Kaye Twomey of New London and her daughter Betsy; David Twomey of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and his children Lexis and Austen; Connie Daul of New London and her sons Luke, Adam, and Kurt; and Paula (Dan) Markert of Winneconne and their son Eric; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Branish of Watertown; and a sister-in-law, Janet (Gil) Lofye of Canton, Georgia.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Frank Twomey, and by a son Scott.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 724 E. South River Street in Appleton, with Rev. Jane Anderson officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, from 5 p.m. until the hour of the service. According to her wishes, Donna will be cremated, and will be interred at Highland Memorial Park.
