- Clarence F. VonRueden, 82, of Alma Center, died Frida y, May 6, 2005, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.He was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Wells Township, Monroe County, Wis., to paren ts William Jacob and Christina (Schreier) VonRueden. He served in the Ar my during World War II as a surgical technician. He married Ruth Duxbury A ug. 20, 1949, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Ruth preceded him in death Fe b. 2, 2005. He was a dairy farmer in the Alma Center area for many years a nd also worked for the township part-time for several years as a patrolm an and snow plow operator.In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, particularly newspapers, and he al so enjoyed hunting, gardening and caring for his cats.Funeral services for Clarence F. VonRueden will be held at 11 a.m., Wednes day, May 11, 2005, at the United Methodist Church, Alma Center, with Rever end Meg Erickson officiating. Burial with military rites by the Alma Cent er VFW Post 8494 will take place in the East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center. F riends called on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral H ome, Hixton, and may also call one hour prior to services at the church.Casketbearers will be Chuck Comstock, Kevin Comstock, Chloris Lowe Jr., J im Prindle and Theron Prindle.
