  Ludwig, Erna L.Erna L. Ludwig, age 76, of 55 Oak St. in Chilton, died on Sunday, Decemb er 4, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born April 1 7, 1929, in the Town of Calumet, daughter of the late William and Sarah (H aensgen) Schmitz. Erna married Gerald Ludwig on July 13, 1948, at Holy Tri nity Catholic Church in Jericho.She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, a life member of the Chilton Eag les Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary. S he was also a member of the former St. Elizabeth Christian Mothers. She en joyed bowling, playing cards, ice fishing and sturgeon spearing, and playi ng bingo. She was especially devoted to her family and loved spending ti me with her kids and grandkids.Survivors include her husband Jerry; three children: William Ludwig of Fai rbanks, AK; Gary (Mary) Ludwig of Darboy; Lyle Ludwig of Healy, AK; a son- in-law, Ron Birschbach of New Holstein; eight grandchildren: Kevin (Nicol e) Birschbach, Nicole (Ryan) Baus, Stacy (Bob) Casper, Sean, Brad, Aaro n, Garrett and Dana Ludwig; seven great-grandchildren: Hailey, Zach, Sa m, Max, Isabella, Zander, Addison; a sister, Elvira (Irmin) Criter of Malo ne; and a brother, Roger Schmitz of Malone. Erna is further survived by ni eces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Jean Birschbach; a bro ther, LaVern Schmitz; a sister, Delores Karls; and three other siblings w ho died in infancy.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Go od Shepherd Parish (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will follow in S t. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funer al Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 3:30 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, Dece mber 9, 2005, and on Saturday at the church from 10-11 a.m. Auxiliary serv ices are planned for Friday evening and will begin at 6:30 p.m. A Parish V igil service is planned Friday evening at 7 p.m. Online Condolences www.wietingfuneralhome.com
