- John P. Wolf, age 84, of Menomonee Falls and New London, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. He was born on May 13, 1922, in Gliddon; son of the late Charles and Emily (Achenbrenner) Wolf. On January 17, 1940, he married Wanetta Shilts in Milwaukee where they lived until moving to Menomonee Falls until they retired. He loved golfing, bowling and traveling. John served his country in World War II in the Army Air Force serving in European Theater.
He was a very active member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church where he volunteered as a mass server and usher.
John is survived by two sons: Richard Wolf, Alaska; Michael (Debra) Wolf, Wales; a daughter, Marlene (Dave) Emerich, New London; a sister, Gerry Kapala, Roscoe, IL; brothers: Henry Wolf, Superior and Ray Wolf, Waukesha; also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents; wife Wanetta; brothers: Carl, William, Louis, and Don; sisters, Catherine and Marie; two sons, Charles and John; and a grandson, Duane Wolf.
The funeral service for John will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Menomonee Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves at 10:45 a.m. to the church. Military rites will be held.
