- Lillie Marie Bublitz, age 91, of Manawa, died on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. She was born on November 5, 1915, in Canova, South Dakota, daughter of the late George and Hattie (Heckendorf) Behm. On September 14, 1940, she married Edmund Bublitz at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, where she was also confirmed. He preceded her in death in 1992. Lillie lived in the Cedarburg area until moving to Manawa in 1983. She was a longtime member of 1st Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and currently was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. Besides raising her family, she was a cleaning lady for various homes in the Cedarburg area. She enjoyed picking apples, gardening, and selling her produce. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters: Darlene (Carlon) Pepke, Merrill; Beverly (Clyde) Schuelke, Manawa; a son: Dennis (Karen) Bublitz, Appleton; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Rita and three brothers.
The funeral service for Lillie will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend (1268 Pleasant Valley Road, 262-675-2621), with Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco on Sunday, from 4-6 p.m. and on Monday, at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
