- Mary Nett, 67, Appleton, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007, after a short illness at Appleton Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1939, in Peebles, daughter of Louis and Eleanore (Fritz) Nett. Ms. Nett was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrightstown. Mary was the bookkeeper and housekeeper for 30 years for Fr. Elroy Reimer. She was an elementary school teacher and taught in Wisconsin and Illinois at various schools. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting and the Green Bay Packers.
Mary is survived by her brothers and sisters: Joan Nett, Fond du Lac; Eugene (Carol) Nett, Portage; Virginia (Richard) Peter, Winter; Bruce (Joyce) Nett, Stoughton; nephews: Greg (Cathy) Peter, Appleton; Brian (Minnie) Peter, Los Altos, CA, and other nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Louis, Roger and James Nett and a sister, Doreen Wanatka.
According to Mary's wishes, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, with Rev. Msgr. John Schuh officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials for St. Joseph Food Pantry and Community Hospice Foundation have been established.
Mary's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff on 4th floor at Appleton Medical Center and hospice for their loving care.
