- Violet M. Milbauer, age 88, of Hortonville, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2007, in Appleton, following a lingering illness. She was born on March 30, 1919, in Mattoon, daughter of the late Matthew & Myrtle (Blanchard) Carpenter. On September 29, 1938, she married Clifford Laird. He preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Charles Milbauer on March 4, 1972; he preceded her in death in 1998. Violet was a member of the Stephensville Methodist Church and their Ladies Aid. She worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory, and also owned and operated the Laird Apple Orchard.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Larson (Larry Turkow), Gresham; four sons: Ray (Karen) Laird, Hortonville; Dan (Carol) Laird, Hortonville; Lee Laird, Clintonville; Jim Laird, Appleton; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive her.
Besides her parents and husbands, eight brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
The funeral for Violet will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Colony Oak's Care Center for their wonderful care they gave to our mother during her stay there.
