Myrtle A. Wilson, Appleton, age 80, was born to eternal life on Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. Myrtle was born in Appleton on September 29, 1927, to the late Albert and Lydia (Thurk) Junge, and resided in Appleton most of her life. On November 1, 1947, Myrtle was united in marriage to Milton Wilson. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. She was very active with the Appleton VFW for many years, once serving as Chaplain. She was also extremely active at her church, First English Lutheran Church, Appleton, where she was a past president of the Women's Club, past chairperson for the Judith Circle, co-chairman of the wedding and funeral guild, sang in the church choir, and also was a member of the church quilting club. She liked to visit the Thompson Senior Center where she enjoyed singing and performing with the choir.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Milton Wilson, Menasha; three daughters: Sheila (Jimmie) King, Tampa, FL; Julie Wilson, Appleton; Amy Wilson, Appleton; two sons: Randall (Barb) Wilson, Black Creek; Todd (Cheryl) Wilson, Appleton; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Jessica) Wilson, Gary Wilson, Nicole Wilson, Kristin Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Adam Wilson, Sara (Donald) Jaloszynski, Heather (Benjamin) Bricco, and Johnathan Wilson; seven great grandchildren: Macy Wilson, Alexander, Andrew and Alizabeth Jaloszynski, Alexis, Lydia, and Nevaeh Bricco; a sister Bernice "Dodo" Junge, Appleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Kathy, two brothers: Harold and Melvin Junge and a sister Verna Buss.
A Funeral Service will be held for Myrtle 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2007, at First English Lutheran Church, corner of North and Drew St. Appleton, with the Rev. David Lyle officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday directly at the church until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for First English Lutheran Church.
