- Richard E. "Dick" Conradt, age 65, of Pulaski, died peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2007, after a courageous 32-month battle with a brain tumor. Richard was born on November 14, 1941, the son of the late Ervin and Grace (Voight) Conradt. He graduated from Shiocton High School in 1960, and went on to serve three years with the United States Marine Corps. On January 9, 1965, he married Joan Stueflat. Dick worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of Highways for 37 years. He served on the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Zachow Council for 15 years and was the Town Supervisor and Chairman of the Town of Angelica for 18 years. He enjoyed the summer retreat he shared with his wife in Northern Minnesota where the two would spend their time fishing. Dick also loved his special grandchildren and to golf.
Dick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan; his son, John (Kim Schield) Conradt, Amherst; grandchildren, Kayli, Kadin; a brother, Dennis (Peggy), Shiocton; a sister, Constance (Donald) Weaver, Princeton, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Lee Conradt.
Dick will be cremated and A Memorial Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel. A Memorial Service will follow the family and friends gathering and will be led by a special friend, Pastor Mike Huff of Crossroads Foursquare Church in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for the Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition.
A special thanks to Dr. Thomas Wascher of Neuro Spine Center of Wisconsin in Appleton for the excellent care. To David Bond, APNP of Neuro Spine, who was always there, even at the end. To the staff of Neuro Spine for all their support. To the Fox Valley brain Tumor Coalition for all their support and care. In the last four months, the Good Shepherd in Seymour became Dick's home and the staff there soon became a part of his family.
