Laurie passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Laurie was born on October 31, 1951, in Chicago, IL, daughter of Rita and the late John Fink. She had attended Whitewater State University where she met her college sweetheart of over thirty-eight years. Laurie and Steve were married on May 8, 1971. She was employed at the Menasha Joint School District for over twenty-two years and enjoyed every day in the library.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Stephen; three beautiful children: Eric (Stephanie) Scheibel, Jennifer (Will) Hopfensperger, and Brian (girlfriend Jessica Kaiser) Scheibel; four grandchildren: Mackenzie, Chance, Caden, and Sawyer; her mother, Rita; two sisters: Mary Lou Bychowski, Cherie (Ed) Shallock; a brother, John (Kathy) Fink Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; and a special "ANT" Janet.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe; a sister, Madonna; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Bychowski, "D.O.M.".
Funeral services for Laurie will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for the cure of Pancreatic Cancer.
