- Jeffrey S. Schmitting, 49, Stockbridge, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. He was born Jan. 15, 1958, in Chilton, son of the late Lester Schmitting and Rose (Heimbach) Stewart. Since the age of 16, Jeff worked for J&E Construction. He was a member of ABATE, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on vehicles, and farming.
Survivors include his children, Lisa Schmitting and special friend, Bob Cullen, Chilton; Lee (Robin) Schmitting, Stockbridge; Joey Schmitting, Stockbridge; James (Amy) Schmitting, Chilton; Julie Schmitting, Chilton; Laura (Joseph III) Schad, Chilton; three step- children, Zane, Zachary and Ezekiel O'Brien; two grandchildren, Kalie and Caden; and five brothers, Russ Schmitting, Lester "Bud" Schmitting, Dave Schmitting and special friend, Laurie, Jaime (LeAnn) Schmitting, and Nick Schmitting and fiancee, Donna. Jeff is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.), Chilton with Dcn. Dennis Bennin officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, and on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10 a.m. when the service will be held.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Jeffrey S. Schmitting.
