- Elton L. "Red" Schultz, 82, Neenah, died Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Crystal River Nursing and Rehab Center, Waupaca. He was born November 24, 1924, in Caledonia, son of Fred and Edna (Lafler) Schultz. Red was employed at Neenah Foundry until his retirement and Kruegers Hardware, where he enjoyed working and was a master of all trades. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and camping. Red was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in Hayward on the Chippewa Flowage. Mr. Schultz was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Red is survived by three sons: Michael Schultz, Nekoosa; Bill Schultz, De Pere; Fred Schultz, CA; special friend of 16 years, Marge Walbrun, Neenah and her 6 children and grandchildren who loved and cared for Red very much: Margie Higgins, Jim Higgins, Kathy Coenen, Denise Garcie, Chris Pomrening and Mike Higgins; a step brother, Howard; grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; and a brother, Ralph.
Michael Higgins and Jeffrey Coenen will reflect on Red's life at 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the Kessler Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60, Kimberly following the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
A memorial has been established.
