- John F. Fassbinder, 75, of Edgerton passed away peacefully on Thurs., August 7, 2008 after a short illness at the HospiceCare Inc. of Fitchburg. He was born on November 15, 1932 in Janesville the son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Raible) Fassbinder. He was united in marriage on February 19, 1955, to Margaret Kennedy at St. Benedicts in Fontana, WI. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edgerton. John enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, pontooning, collecting Ducks Unlimited Decanters, camping, the Packers, the Brewers and the Badgers. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He retired from GM in 1988 after 32 years as the Traffic Manager.
John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marge of Edgerton; three daughters, Patricia (Curt) Holman of Hortonville, WI, Mary (Marty) Salerno of Carol Stream, IL, and Jill (Michael) Schwieters of Mequon, WI. and one daughter-in-law, Kristin (Brett Kehoe) Fassbinder of Oshkosh; eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Nicole, Elizabeth, Lauren, John, Timothy, Logan, McKenna, Tyler and Turner; one sister, Helen Fassbinder of Lake Geneva.
John was preceded in death by one son, Robert John.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Edgerton with Father Bill Hower officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call on Mon. August 11, 2008, at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Honor Guard will be in attendance for the services.
In Lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the HospiceCare Inc. Inc of Fitchburg or the Rock County Humane Society. The EHLERT FUNERAL HOME of Edgerton is assisting the family.
