- Georgianna Mary Marten, age 60, of Stephensville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008, at home with her husband by her side. Georgianna was born on December 8, 1949, in Appleton, to the late Leonard and June (Joliene) Erke. On August 3, 1973, Georgie married Bruce Marten in Manhattan, Kansas, while in the Service.
She is survived by her dear husband, Bruce Marten; a son, Michael (Tammy) Marten, Stephensville; a daughter, Michelle (Les) Hatkens, Minnesota; a sister, Becky, Tennessee; grandchildren: Marissa and Trevor Marten, Cody Hatkens and a grandchild on the way; sister-in-laws: Diane Erke, De Pere; Patty Marten, Weyauwega; brother-in-laws: Jim Marten, Omro; and Glen (Debbie) Marten, Stephensville; stepfather-in-law, Eldor Grutzmach. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Georgie was preceded in death by her parents, a son David, a daughter Melissa; a brother, Richard Erke; a sister-in-law, Beverly Marten; her mother-in-law, Mary Marten; father-in-law, Wilmer "Bud" Marten; and stepfather-in-law, Eldor Grutzmach.
Funeral Services for Georgie will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Sister Pauline Feiner officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3-6 p.m.
Many thanks to hospice helpers, Georgie said, they were so good to her and to her many friends and family members who cared for her.
