Mary Kay Brock, 83, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living. She was born on April 22, 1926, in Port Washington, the daughter of the late Michael and Eleanor (Rock) Karrels. On May 3, 1952, she married Raymond Brock at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute.
Mary Kay was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a "pink lady". Mary Kay and Ray loved traveling the world together, and a few of their favorite places were Hawaii, Las Vegas and the Bahamas. Many people were the recipients of her two foot Christmas stockings that she enjoyed knitting. Golfing, bowling, reading and bridge were a few of her favorite hobbies.
Mary Kay is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray Brock, Appleton; three children, Marcia (fiance, Robert Lambert) Palmer, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Patricia Brock, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Steve (Debra) Brock, Farmington Hills, Mich.; two grandsons, Matthew and David Palmer, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and her brother, Air Force Lt. Col. Clifford Karrels, Ret., Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral liturgy for Mary Kay will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton. Father Don Zuleger will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel from 4 p.m. until the time of the prayer service at 7 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
