- Glenna Yvonne (Amidon) Van der Linden, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side. Glenna was born June 11, 1938, in Waukesha, daughter of Clifford and Charlotte Amidon. She was united in marriage to Wayne Van der Linden on September 6, 1958.
She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine, and a member of its Ladies Society. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters and enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles and spending time at her cottage on Long Lake. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Glenna is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Glenn; daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Rouse; three granddaughters: Stephanie (special friend Jon), Brittany and Courtney Rouse; a very special mother-in-law, Lorraine Van der Linden; two brothers-in-law; Sydney (Sandra) and Thomas (Karen); and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and her father-in-law.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Pastor John Smith, Dr. M. Williams, Shanda Hubertus and everyone at ThedaCare At Home Hospice (especially Kelly Kerby) for all their help, care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine with Rev. John Smith officiating. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and then at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
