A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, Wisc. on February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Visitation is one hour before the service. Muriel, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 29, 2011. She was a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King and formerly of Appleton. She was born on Feb. 4, 1915, in Black Wolf Township, Wis., to Carl and Hilda Abraham. She is the beloved wife of the late Gilbert F. Puls. They were married on Aug. 17, 1946.
Muriel worked as a bookkeeper at companies in the greater Appleton area for many years. She was a member for over 50 years of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fremont, Wis., and for over 50 years of Faith Lutheran Church where she was an active volunteer well into her 80's.
Muriel is survived by her son, John (Marcia) Puls, Grafton, Wis.; and granddaughter, Sarah Puls, Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter Ann, (Fred) Luffman and grandson Tim, Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Kenneth Abraham, Weyauwega, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Elaine Abraham, Fremont, Wis.; Phyllis Abraham (Louie Thorne), Sun City, Ariz.; Geraldine Althaus, West Bend, Wis; and brother-in-law, Gordon (Lisa Woodward) Puls, Fremont, Wis. She is also survived by many dear family and friends, especially those of Faith Lutheran Church.
Her sisters, Verna and Lucile, and brothers, Robert and Harold (Jack), preceded her in death.
