- Victor A. Anderson, 85, Clintonville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Vic was born on April 3, 1925, in Clintonville, the son of the late Lester and Lizzie (Wedde) Anderson. He attended Clintonville schools and was called to serve in the U.S. Army from April 21, 1944, until his discharge on May 29, 1947.
Vic was united in marriage to Bernice Fields in Clintonville, on Jan.19, 1957. The couple has lived in Clintonville all of their married life. Vic had worked in construction at Wunderlick Brothers, Appleton, until he became employed at the F.W.D. Corporation, Clintonville, until retirement in 1987.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, trapping, visiting the casinos, listening to Polka music, going "up north" to their cottage at Land O' Lakes and spending time with his grandchildren and his three young nieces. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #664 of Clintonville, and of the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bernice; his daughter, Carol (Robert) Koplien, New London; his sons, Roger (Lois) Anderson and David (Rose) Anderson, Clintonville; his grandchildren, Cory (Jackie) Desmond, Gillett; Cathy (Tom) Schulz, New London; Michael Anderson, Clintonville; Travis Anderson (Kristin Knaup), Clintonville; Scott (Robyn) Bailey, Waupaca; Joe (Bridget) Bailey, Manawa; and Lori (Todd) Mattes, Clintonville; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dave and Nick Schulz, Connor, Dawson and Avery Bailey, Marlee and Zhenya Mattes, and Cameron Knaup; his sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Kettenhoven, Dorothy Laux and Shirley (Terry) Wolf, Clintonville; and Barb (Artie) Plaster, Tigerton; his brother, Jerry (Rose) Anderson, Land O' Lakes; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mavis Anderson, Gloria Anderson, Floyd Bricco and Robert (Rachael) Fields, Clintonville; and Joseph (Janet) Fields, Bear Creek; and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, LaVerne Stueck and June Bricco; and three brothers, Leonard, Richard and Clarence "Buzz" Anderson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Brian Crocker and Intern Brian Nehring officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, and after 10 a.m,. Thursday at the Church until the time of the service. Military Honors will be held at the church and provided by the American Legion Post # 63 and the V.F.W. Post # 664 of Clintonville.
