- Mary Jane Geiger, Kaukauna, age 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Paul Home. She was born August 26, 1927, daughter of the late Michael and Phoebe (Stoneman) Koch. On June 25, 1949 Mary Jane married Edward F. Geiger at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. The couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage prior to his death on February 17, 2003. Mary Jane worked at Weigman Grocery Store for many years, and also for Bill Eiting. She loved gardening, tending flowers, watching her grandchildren grow and volunteering for the Boy Scouts Troop 27 for many years. Mary Jane was a 'giving person" and sponsored two overseas seminarians.
She is survived by one son, Neil (Dixie) Geiger; 4 grandchildren: Nathan Geiger, Melissa (Mike) Dykstra, Vincent Geiger, and Gwen (Scott) Collins; 4 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Ryker Dykstra, Hayden and Madelyn Collins; 5 siblings survive her: Al "John" Koch, Fr. Michael Koch, Carol Martin, Patricia Boring, Dorothy (Tom) Rappley, and a sister-in-law, Bernadette Koch. She is further survived by her husband's family: Virginia Boettcher, Dorothy Vogel, Myron (Vivian) Herzog, Carol (Dennis) Chouinard, Verona Geiger and Margie Geiger; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers: Vincent (Eileen) Koch, DePaul Koch and Elmer (Lucille) Koch; 3 sisters: Eva (Lester) Mach, Kathryn (Ted) Gorny, and Joann (Richard) Ploeckleman; brothers-in-law: Earl Martin, Bill Boring, Elroy Geiger and a sister-in-law, Irene (Wally) Ray.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks. Friends may call directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
