- Carol Zoern, 72, Little Chute, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her home. She fought a courageous fight for many years and for those we are truly grateful! She was born on April 10, 1939, in Antigo, Wisconsin, daughter of George John and Clara Magdeline (Fonek) Steber. Carol was united in marriage on August 24, 1957, in Antigo, to Donald P. Zoern. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1999. Carol enjoyed working in the medical field as a Geriatrics Care Provider and was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. She spent time with the Red Hat's, volunteered for many organizations and enjoyed traveling during her retirement. Family was very important to Carol as she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren; Alec and Adam, family and friends.
Carol is survived by her two sons: Tim (fiancé Kristi Ibe-Davis) Zoern, her son Tanner, and Brad (Beth) Zoern; two grandchildren: Alec and Adam Zoern; two brothers: George (Betty) Steber, and John (Dorothy) Steber; five sisters: Elizabeth Mugavero, Joan Waldvogel, Helen (Eugene) Mason, Janet Pagel, and Barbara (Thomas) Boettcher; sister-in-laws: Patricia Evers, Mary Sable, Margaret Zoern, and Kay Zoern; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol is also preceded in death by an infant son: Anthony Joseph Zoern and numerous other close family members.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. at the church until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
