- Roger H. Kluge, of Hortonville, age 76, passed away at his residence unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 20, 2007. Roger was born on January 12, 1931, in New London, son of the late Harold and Margaret (Viel) Kluge. He was a resident of Hortonville most of his life. Roger was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran church in Hortonville; he was confirmed on March 25, 1945. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1949. On May 10, 1952, Roger was united in marriage to Carol Krenke. He was formerly employed at Georgia Pacific (formerly American Plywood and Curtis in New London). He also worked for Metso in Appleton (formerly Allis Chalmers) until his retirement as a machinist. Roger enjoyed being with his favorite dog Holly and also being outdoors fishing and hunting.
Roger is survived by his wife, Carol; his children: Debbi (Neal) Wunderlich, Chanhasson, MN; Vicki (Stu) Driessen, Greenville; Jayne Kluge, Green Bay; Jennifer (Jim) Spencer, Summerville, SC; a sister, Janice (Melvin) Hidde, New London; his grandchildren: Jeremy Wunderlich, Richfield, MN; Joel (Diane) Wunderlich, Franklin Square, NY; Tracy and Matt Dillon, Minneapolis, MN; Kurt Hoier, Menasha; Lance Driessen, Milwaukee; Brent Driessen, Kimberly; Heidi, Nic, and Olivia Hanneman, Fremont; great-grandchildren: Matthew Hermus, and Nicole and Thomas Wunderlich, brother-in-law, Gerald Krenke, Hortonville; sisters-in-law: Marlene (Dave) McNichols, Joyce (Wayne) Huebner, Marinette and Cherie Krenke, Madison. Also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive Roger.
Besides his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Emil and Caroline Krenke; a granddaughter, Kimberly Hoier; and a son-in-law, Mike Hoier.
Funeral services for Roger will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville with Rev. Ralph Rosenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Hortonville Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville from 4-8 p.m. Friends may also call at the Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established for the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville.
