- Lea Ann B. De Goey, Combined Locks, age 74, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, November 30, 2009, at St. Paul Elder Care Services following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 16, 1935, to the late Roderick and Helen (Jansen) Lom. Lea Ann married William J. De Goey on July 22, 1952, at St. Paul Parish. He preceded her in death February 20, 2002. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, enjoyed baking, flower gardening, shopping and knitting. Lea Ann was involved in mission sewing and funeral luncheons at St. Paul Parish. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul in Kaukauna and St. Paul Elder Care Services.
Lea Ann is survived by her children: Gary (Mary), Kimberly; Debbie (Jim) Jonen, Darboy; Barb Curtin, Combined Locks; Joan (Jim) Nackers, Combined Locks; Kathy (Len) Menting, Darboy; Joe (Sarah), Menasha; Amy (Todd) Van Schyndel, Combined Locks; and Bill (Staci), Kaukauna. Grandchildren: Dave and Matt De Goey, Jaime (fiance Travis Smith) Jonen, Amanda (Cory) Spierings, Nicole Blair, Chad (Paula) Nackers, Michelle and Cory Nackers, Katie (Nick) Paasch, Maria and Matt Menting, Jessica (Paul) Hawley, Kristie and Brooke De Goey, Nathan and Jake Van Schyndel, Maddie and Will De Goey. Great-grandchildren: Autumn, Parker, Aubrey, Owen, Olivia and one expected in April. Lea Ann is also survived by her sister, Phyllis (Marty) Roovers and brothers and sisters-in-law: Sylvia Bird, Angie Van Der Steen, Eleanor Vandenberg, JoAnn Jansen, Junior Wirth and Leo Vandenberg. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lea Ann was preceded in death by her son-in-law Jeff Curtin; great-granddaughter Hannah Nackers; brothers and sisters-in-law: Carol (Bob) Burmester, Marion Vandenberg, Betty Keller, Betty (Bud) Pennings, Bob Bird, Stony Van Der Steen, Don Vandenberg and Bill Jansen.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2009, at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace St., Combined Locks) beginning at 1 p.m. until Mass at 4 p.m. The Rev. James Lucas will officiate. Committal St. Paul Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit www. oconnellfuneralservices. com.
