- Raymond G. Spiegelberg ... Age 77, went to be with his Lord in heaven, Saturday January 24, 1998. He was born December 12, 1920 in Dale, Wis., son of Arnold and Laura (Beckman) Spiegelberg. Ray married Elaine Buchholz on June 18, 1950, at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. He graduated from Little Wolf High School, Manawa, in 1939. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Manawa. Ray and Elaine ran a dairy farm until 1989. Since then he has been a semi-retired farmer. He enjoyed visiting the shut-ins, paddling his canoe around Bear Lake, his family, a good laugh, and most of all, the contentment of knowing he was saved by his faith in Jesus christ as his Savior.
"Survivors include his mother, Laura Spiegelberg, Waupaca; three children, Stephen, Bear Lake; Roseanne Spiegelberg, Appleton, and Jane (Stephen) Plamann, Appleton; five grandchildren,...... two brothers, Lyle (Carol) Spiegelberg, Ogdensburg, and Vilas Spiegelberg, Manawa; a sister, Doris (Sam) Roth, Menasha; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Buchholz, Waupaca; a brother-in-law, Russel (Dorothy) Buchholz, Weyauwega, and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was also 'Grandpa' to Ana Claudia Lopes of Brazil and Elizabeth Mulligan of England. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine, June 2, 1996, and his father, Arnold Spiegelberg. Visitation will be held at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Tuesday, January 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa on Wednesday, Janaury 28, 1998, at 2 p.m. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
