  Fred Ernst, 1001 W. Browning, age 78, died about 2 p.m. Sunday after a short illness. He was born January 28, 1905 in Streeter, North Dakota. Mr. Ernst was an Appleton resident since 1925 and was employed by the Wisconsin Michigan Power Company retiring 16 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Klapper Ernst; a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Madden, Seabrook, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Chris (Christine) Jahnke, Arvada, Colorado; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald, five brothers and two sisters. The complete funeral will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at Star of Hope Mausoleum Chapel, Highland Memorial Park with the Rev. James Gleane officiating. Emtombment will follow. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday from from 11 a.m. at the Star of Hope Mausoleum until the time of the Service.
