- Paul Buchinger, age 74, of Hilbert, died Monday, April 12, 2004 at St. Paul Home. Paul was born March 25, 1930 to the late Michael and Margaret (Jackels) Buchinger in the Town of Buchanan. He married the former Jeanette Koehler on September 11, 1956 at St. John Catholic Church in the Town of Woodville. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1992. Paul lived in the Town of Buchanan from his birth until he moved to Sherwood in 1952. In 1964 he moved to Hilbert. Paul was a farmer all his life, was active officer in the farm bureau and attended many sales and auctions. He enjoyed card playing, polka music and dancing.
Paul was a longtime member of St. John Parish and the Knights of Columbus, Hilbert Branch.
He is survived by two sons, Steven Buchinger and Arthur Buchinger; a special friend, Betty Jacobs; a brother, Mark (Dorothy) Buchinger; three sisters: Catherine Popp (Lewis) Seegers, Mary (Bernard) Schmit and Barbara (Norbert) Horn; and five sisters-in-law: Marlene Koehler, Betty Buchinger, Rita Buchinger, Jean Buchinger and Joyce (Phil) Bruecker.
His wife, Jeanette; his parents, Michael and Margaret; his six brothers: John, Michael, Ed, Leo, Richard and Carl; an infant sister, Anna Ceil; a brother-in-law, Joseph Popp; and two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Buchinger and Marian Buchinger preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday April 17, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH IN Sherwood with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place St. John Cemetery in the Town of Woodville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
