- Neenah - Robert "Bob" "Butch" Bruce was born July 24, 1935 to Herman and Grace (Ashley) Bruce in New London. On July 18, 1959 he married the love of his life, Marilynn Spielbauer. Bob passed away early Thursday, February 8, 2018, in time to spend Valentine's Day with his sweetheart.
Bob was a Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked for Quality Printing, retiring after over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, family Packer parties and trips to the casino. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him Bumpa and Bumpy.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Susan Konrad; Sharon Heidke; and Todd (Tina) Bruce; his grandchildren: Steven (Samantha) Konrad; Shaun (Heather) Konrad; Eric Heidke; Ashlee (Cory) Milbach; Eli (McCaylea Bell) Heidke; Katie (Bryce Hidde) Bruce; and Kenzie Bruce; as well as by his great-grandchildren: Trinity, Brook, Harley, Riley, Natalie, Luna, Hope, Braydon, Landon, and three more on the way. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, John Spielbauer, sister-in-law, Joan Spielbauer, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilynn, his parents, and all of his brothers and sisters.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 13 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 7th Street, Menasha, with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, February 12 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again at church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Bob will join Marilynn in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th floor at Neenah Theda Clark Hospital and Peabody Manor for the wonderful care they provided Bob these past two weeks.
Our Dad/Bumpa was a man of few words, but he will be remembered for his witty comments.
