- Virginia M. Burby, "Ginnie", Appleton, age 89, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Bridges of Appleton. She was born December 23, 1925 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late George and Alma (Knoll) Heule. On October 1, 1949 Ginnie married Donald Burby in Appleton. The couple enjoyed 44 years of marriage together prior to his death in 1993. Ginnie worked at Kimberly Clark until retirement. She was very family oriented, loved to do crafts, play cards and enjoyed the family reunions. Her siblings and nieces and nephews were very important to her. Ginnie was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Swick, Appleton; 3 special nieces: Cheryl (Ralph) Carpenter, Kathy (Steve) Newcombe, and Rebecca Hoelzel; a sister-in-law, Ella Kramer; numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Burby, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law: Gordon (Catherine) Heule, Donald Heule, a brother-in-law, Glen "Bill" Swick, and a special nephew, Mark Swick.
Funeral services for Ginnie will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North St., Appleton with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Friends may call directly at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family.
