  Kiel Hotel Proprietor Dies At Madison Hospital Kiel, Wis. (Special) Ferdinand W. Voigt, Jr. 54, proprietor of the Graceland hotel of this city, passed away at the Wisconsin General hospital at Madison, Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. He had been ailing for the past year and had been confined at the hospital for the past five weeks. Deceased was born in Kiel on Feb. 27, 1885, the youngest son of Ferdinand and Louise (Ladwig) Voigt. He attended the Kiel schools and graduated from the Kiel High school. After leaving school he was employed at the John Lauson company at New Holstein for 16 years, starting as an apprentice in the mechanical trade. He was married to Miss Regina Wirth of New Holstein on April 16, 1913, and the couple resided in New Holstein for 16 years. In 1921 the family moved to Kiel where Mr. Voigt took over the Graceland hotel, which he operated until the time of his death. For the past two years he also was employed at the H. G. Weber Company at Kiel working there until he became ill. Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Grace) Lubeley, his aged father, Ferdinand Voigt, Sr., of this city; two brothers, Bernard of Portland, Oregon, and Richard of Belgium; and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Drake of Louis Corners and Mrs. Frank Drews of Kiel.
