  Richard L. Schmieder, 76, Sturgeon Bay, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at his home. He was born July 2, 1931, in Brillion, the son of John and Rosa (Bratz) Schmieder. He attended Brillion High School. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1951. He was a former member of the American Legion. July 24, 1954, he married Sally Mae Lettau in Kaukauna, at the Evangelical Reform Church. He had been employed as an automotive mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Sally, Sturgeon Bay; four children, Sheree Bohardt, Sturgeon Bay, Michael (Kim) Schmieder, Shawano, Kim Cisler, Green Bay, and Gina (her boyfriend, Randy Bruchert) Scholze, Sturgeon Bay; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Mae Scharenbroch, Green Bay, Mildred Behnke, Niagara; two brothers, Arthur Schmieder, Wayne, Mich., and Kenneth Schmieder, Reedsville. Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Randolph (1977); three brothers; and one sister. At Richard's request there will be no public services.
