  The said Jayne was Daughter & Heire of Wm. Heckington of Bourn in the County of Lincolne Esq. She lived 87 years, whereof she continued a Widow 35 Years. She deceased the 10th of March, 1587. She was a very grave, religious, vertuous, & worthy Matron; and delighted in the works of Piety & Charity. She was crowned with much Honor & Comfort, and by God's blessing lived to see her Children & her Children's Children to the fourth & fifth generation, and that in a plentifull & honourable sucession, being a happy Mother of that most Honourable Sir Wm. Cecil Knight of the noble Order of the Garter: Lord Burghley, Lord High Treasurer of England who lyeth here by her. (daughters are now named): Margaret first married to Roger Cave Esq. of Stamford of whom is descended Sir Thomas Cave; and after to Ambrose Smith Esq.; Elizabeth was first marryed to Robert Wingfield of Upton Esq. of whom is descended Sir Robert Wingfield of Upton Knight; and after to Hugh Allington, Esq.: Anne marryed to Thomas Whyte of Tuxford Esq. of whom is descended John Whyte Esq."
