He had both a stroke and Parkinson Diseas e. He was at the Americana Health Care Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. He d ied at age 72. Mary Ellen was born August 23, 1912. She was at the Renne ss Health Care Center In Appleton, Wisconsin. She died of heart failu re at the age of 80.. Seh died on June 6, 1993. Both Mary Ellen ans Walt er will long be remembered for all the great parties that they had for Gra ndma Long's birthday each year. It was always a good family reunion.Work: Walter was both a farmer and a businessman. From 1936 through 1940 a nd amybe more years he worked for his brother Harry, driving truch for Har ry H. Long Moving and Storage. Then in 1943 he and Howard F. McCarthy form ed an auction service with Walter being known state wide as ringmaster. Up on McCarthy's death in 1960, he formed Long, Wieckert and Karel Real Esta te and was active in northeastern Wisconsin. Since 1971 he acted as a cons ultant to Long Real Estate and operated a large dairy farm in Grand Chute.

- Walter Long, age 72, di ed at the Americana Health Care center Monday morning. He was born Apr il 13th, 1908 in Grand Chute. In 1943 he and H. F. McCarthy formed an auc tion service with Walter being known statewide as ringmaster. Upon McCart hy's death in 1960, he formed Long, Wieckert & Karel Real Estate and was a ctive in northeastern Wisconsin. Since 1971 he acted as a consultant to L ong Real Estate and also operated a large dairy farm in Grand Chute. He w as a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Ma ry Ellen; three daughters: Miss Rita Long, Appleton; Mrs. John (Pat) Luc as Jr., of Northfield, Illinois; Sister Kathleen 0.P. Minneapolis Minnesot a; two sons, James R. Long and W. Thomas Long, both of Appleton; three bro thers: Dennis Long, of Neenah; Richard, of Menasha; Francis, of Appleto n; two sisters: Mrs. Greg (Mary) Kofler, of Neenah; Mrs. Richard (Veronic a) Waldoch, of Menasha; seven grandson's: Tom, Jim, Brian, Kevin and Patri ck Long all of Appleton; John and Michael Lucas, Northfield Illinois; fi ve granddaughters; Coleen, Sheila and Eileen, along of Appleton; Mary Be th and Megan Lucas, Northfield Illinois. The funeral will be at 10:30 a. m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church. There will be a concelebrated Ma ss with Father James Putman, Father Lambert Scanlon and Father David Kief er officiating. Internment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. A memori al fund has been established for Parkinson's disease.
