  Ray Femal Is Fatally Hurt At Gas Co. Plant Struck on Head by Clevis Falling From Top of 80-Foot Smokestack. DIES TWO HOURS LATER Skull Is Fractured by Blow Survived by Widow and One Son. Ray Femal, 28, 1177 Fourth-st., was killed Thursday at the gas plant of the Wisconsin Traction, Light, Heat and Power company when an iron clevis weighing about 3 pounds became unbooked and feH about 80 feet, striking him on the head and fracturing his skull. The accident happened about 4:30 and Femal lived about two hours after he was taken to St. Elisabeth hospital. Femal was an employe of the Northern Boiler and Structural Iron Works and was working with a crew of men erecting a new smokestack in the gas plant. The clevis was used to hold sheets of steel together temporarily. It worked itself loose and Femal was standing beneath and received the violent blow on the head. Decedent is survived by a wife and one son, Daniel: his mother: four brothers. Thomas, Janesville; Ernest and Harry, Appteton; Frank, Kau- kauna; one sister, Mrs. Albert Brain- ard, Iron Wood, Mich. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Monday morning in St. Mary church with burial nt St. Mary cemetery. PAGE ONE, APPLETON POST-CRESCENT, FRIDAY, JULY 29, 1921
