- Dorothy M. Kempen, nee Mader, Kaukauna, age 67 died on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Kindred Heart after a 7 year battle with dementia. She was born February 16, 1946 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Ralph and Marie (Welhouse) Mader. On November 15, 1965 she married Bill Kempen. Dorothy owned and operated various beauty salons including: Pink Peal, Lords & Ladies and Dans Barber Shop. She enjoyed golf, was a big Packer Fan and loved spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy was a member of Holy Spirit Parish - Holy Angels Church, Darboy.
She is survived by, William Kempen, a son, Patrick (Lynn) Kempen and their children: Amanda, Patrick "PJ", Jacob and Leeahna; a daughter, Pam (Robert) Fredericks and their children: Khrysta, Alexandria and Robyn; 3 great-grandchildren: Talyiah, Anaya and Erica; siblings: Ann (Tom) Stumpf, Ruth (Paul) Stumpf, Charlie (Judy) Mader, Michael (Becky) Mader, and Marie Zirbel; in-laws: Karen Mader and Clarence Wolfinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Barbara Wolfinger, a brother, James Mader and a brother-in-law, Patrick Zirbel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH at Holy Angels Church, Darboy with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Friends may call on MONDAY, December 30, 2013 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a parish prayer service AT 7:30 P.M. concluding the evening. Friends may call again on Tuesday directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
