- Death of Mrs. Anna NeifingMonday morning Mrs. Anna Neifing died at the home of her daughter, of pneu monia after a short illness. For some time past she had made her home wi th her daughter, Mrs. John O'Connell of this city and a few weeks ago we nt to visit her daughters in Chicago, where she was taken sick, resulti ng in her death.Mrs. Neifing was born in Osburg, Germany 21 Feb. 1821 and came to the U SA in 1846. In 1841 she married Mathias Neifing and they continued to li ve in that country until 1846 when they set sail to this country, bringi ng with them two children who had been born to them there. They made the v oyage in a sailing vessel, being 21 days on the voyage.They settled in Chicago where they lived for several years, and in 1860 th ey moved to Peoria, Illinois. In 1868 they purchased a farm in Rooks Cree k, and moved there, where they lived until they came to Pontiac in 1883. S he was the mother of thirteen children, ten of whom are still living, Mr s. John O'Connell, Mrs. S.H. Bond, Mrs. Gus Raymond Sr., John Neifing of P ontiac, IL, Mrs. Ellen Krier, Mrs. Emma Williams, Chicago, IL, Mrs. Mary W eyker, Claio, IA, Matt Neifing, William Neifing, Lostant, IL and Nicola us Neifing of Graymount, IL.Her remains were brought to Pontiac, IL, Tuesday and funeral services we re held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday afternoon, which were l argely attended showing the esteem in which the deceased was held and mani festing sympathy for her children, who sincerely mourn the death of a go od mother.
