- Lloyd W. Wink, 86, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully Nov. 13, 2010, surrounded by his loving family after battling major health issues for 21 years. He was born Jan. 12, 1924, to the late Adolph and Clara (Timm) Wink in Forest Junction and was a graduate of Kaukauna High School.
Lloyd married Germaine Heindel on Dec. 21, 1943. He was self-employed in the cattle industry, served on the Luxemburg Village Board and Chamber of Commerce, he and his wife operated concession stands for the Kewaunee and Brown County fairs and drove school bus for several years. He enjoyed playing cards, having morning coffee with his buddies, watching Packer football, golfing and bowling. Most of all, he enjoyed being with family, friends, and they enjoyed being with him. He always had a story or joke to tell.
Survivors include his beloved wife and caregiver of 66 years, Germaine; five daughters and one son, Donna (Bernie) Sustman, Sharron (Doug) Doeren, Pat (Bob) Wertel, Teri Wink, all of Green Bay; Lynn (Tom) Schilder, Savannah, Ga.; and Jack (Mary) Wink, Wisconsin Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Mark (Deb) Sustman, Dan Sustman, Jennifer (Greg) Gruetzmacher, Amy (Brandt) Treichel, Jill (Matt) Loritz, Dylan Phelan and Casey Phelan, all of Green Bay; Denise (Dylan) Tomlinson, Jason Doeren, De Pere; Brian (Lisa) Wink, Mt. Horeb; Kelly (Mark) McDonnell, Goodyear, Ariz.; and Lindsay Schilder, Savannah, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Wilmer Wink, Dean (Gertie) Wink, all of Appleton; Jerome (Lois) Wink, Marcella deCoster, all of New Holstein; LaVerne Ott, Brillion; Dorothy (Lloyd) Wolf, Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law, David Heindel, De Pere; Tom Heindel, Kaukauna; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; twin grandsons, Alexander and Troy Phelan; one great-grandson, Jacob Loritz; two sisters, Gertie (Harvey) Just, Bernice (Harold) Krueger; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Min and Jake Heindel; three brothers-in-law, Mike Ott, Bud deCoster, LeRoy Heindel; sisters-in-law, Avis Wink, Evelyn Heindel and Joann Heindel.
Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg, 9 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. Funeral 12 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Carl Brewer officiating. Entombment will be private at the The Shrine of Good Shepherd.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many doctors who have cared for Lloyd over the years, special care given by the nursing and CNA's staff of Bornemann's Nursing Home, VNA Aurora Hospice and John Christofferson for being a good friend to Lloyd.
